Helping Out
One thing can make this project work- help from volunteers. If you would like to enter some tunes into ABC format, please send email to John Chambers. There is a document here to explain keying standards, who is working on what, and what our reasonable goals for completion are. | Data entry will be primarily done using text editors or one of the various ABC packages such as ABC2WIN. Once a good amount of data has been entered, we will need people to help us check the data entry for accuracy as well. If you are a good sight reader, please get in touch so we can help make sure that the music we enter is as accurate as possible. |
Finally, there is the server-side. An ABC parser and search engine is being tested. If you know how to program well and might be good at creating a graphical music notation display from parsed ABC, we'd love to hear from you! | Don't forget that this will be a free resource for anyone on the net to use, as long as the archive is able to provide web space for the exhibit. Remember to check back here often- progress is updated as I recieve informations, and samples will be displayed for you to see how things are coming along. |
