This directory contains John Chambers' clone of
the O'Neill's Project files and web pages.
We now have abc transcriptions of three of O'Neill's books:
Music of Ireland ("1850")
Dance Music of Ireland ("1001")
Waifs and Strays of Gaelic Melody
Lovers of traditional Irish music will want O'Neill's in book form.
A facsimile edition of "1850" is now published by Mel Bay.
An edition of "1001" is published by Waltons.
I don't know if "Waifs" is in print.

For a few years now, I've been working on a project suggested by several
of our traditional Irish music teachers.
It started with complaints from several of them that the ABC transcription
project are difficult to use, since they copy the tune orders in the books,
and use the tune numbers rather than titles as the main reference.
My reorganization joins all 3 books into a single collection,
organized primarily by titles.

I've also worked on making the tunes display better on the various
small electronic gadgets that people are using more and more these days.
